BAG supports UK-China aviation engagement through DBT China, CAAC and AETP
The British Aviation Group (BAG) was pleased to support a programme of UK-China aviation engagement in August, working alongside DBT China and partners as part of the Sino-UK Aviation Working Group Airport Sub-Group and the UK-China Airport Executive Training Programme (AETP).
BAG was invited to participate in the 18th Airport Working Group meeting and associated dinner with a delegation from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), held in central London from 3–5 August 2026. The BAG Chair and BAG’s Innovation Working Group lead attended, contributing to discussions on areas of mutual interest and helping to strengthen dialogue between the UK and Chinese airport sectors.
BAG also presented at the UK Airport Design and Passenger Experience Sharing Session, drawing on BAG’s Key Theme on Passenger Experience to share UK perspectives and member expertise in this important area.
In the second week of the visit, BAG coordinated an opportunity for members to present to more than 20 Chinese airports as part of AETP. The programme is a flagship UK-China aviation cooperation initiative delivered under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
BAG members took part in a programme of knowledge-sharing and insight sessions, presenting UK capability across AI, digital, cyber security and wider security technologies. The engagement provided a valuable platform for members to showcase their expertise directly to senior Chinese airport stakeholders and further reinforces BAG’s role in supporting international collaboration and market access opportunities for the UK aviation supply chain.
