‘These strong results provide a solid foundation as we plan for the future’ says chief executive Matthew Hall

Belfast City Airport reported a rise in turnover and profitability in 2025, but saw a slight drop in passenger numbers, its latest published accounts reveal.

The airport, which is owned by a fund managed by 3i, saw its turnover jump by 8% from just over £28 million in 2024 to £30.3 million.

Its operating profit rose to £5.2m from £3.7m previously, and its retained profit soared from just £311,000 last year to £2.2m this time, reflecting continued strength across the airport’s operations and revenue streams.

That masterplan, launched in March, sets out a long-term vision for growth to meet projected demand for up to seven million passengers annually by 2040 and includes establishing a new railway station and hotel adjacent to the terminal...
