Australia has signed four new bilateral and expanded air service agreements aimed at strengthening international connectivity, supporting tourism growth, and enhancing long-term trade and logistics capacity.

Announced by the Australian Government in May 2026, the agreements include expanded aviation arrangements with Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, alongside new agreements with the Maldives and El Salvador. The updated framework is expected to improve passenger access, increase cargo movement, and support Australia’s growing role within global aviation and trade networks.

Under the revised agreements, airlines from Australia, Qatar, and the UAE will gain access to an additional seven weekly passenger services through Western Sydney International Airport.
