Northern Ireland’s Belfast City Airport (BHD) anticipates its passenger throughput jumping from 2.4 million in 2024 to 7 million in 2040, according to its finalized Airport Masterplan.

To handle the growth, BHD plans to extend its terminal building, build a new two-story pier, create a new taxiway and apron, and increase the number of stands from 13 to 21.

The master plan also puts increased emphasis on intermodal transport facilities, although the most significant of these would be a yet-to-be-confirmed new rail link from Belfast city center to the airport.
