Work to Continue on Madrid-Barajas Airport Terminal Expansions

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has provided an update on current expansion works at AS Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD).

The meeting also saw discussion on more details related to Aena’s latest proposal for the 2027-2031 Airport Operations Development Plan (DORA), which would see the group invest 4.48 billion EUR in airports across the city.

Work on MAD’s expansion, which is currently underway, is not set to reach the most significant portion of construction until 2027-2031. These include the main expansion works on both terminal buildings T4 and T4S; construction of a new processing building; and the renovation of the T1, T2, and T3 departure area...
