The works aim to make passenger experience ‘even smoother’.

Passengers travelling from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) are being asked to allow extra time to get through security due to ongoing improvement works.

The security search area at the airport in Speke is undergoing an upgrade, with three primary lanes being extended. A spokesperson for LJLA said the works ‘will allow us to process a higher volume of passengers on those lanes’ and make passenger experience ‘even smoother’.

A new loading area is also being introduced, which will allow the trays - used by passengers for their bags and belongings to be screened - to enter the system in the correct order as passengers place them on the conveyor, rather than security staff needing to manually pull trays onto the conveyor...
