Leeds Bradford Airport update after runway issue – statement in full

Leeds Bradford Airport has reopened after flights were cancelled on Friday evening after an issue with the runway.

The main Yorkshire airport has confirmed staff were working to resolve the issue "as soon as possible" following an "unforeseen issue with the runway".

However, the runway issue was reportedly fixed in a 6am update on Saturday morning (October 25), a Leeds Bradford Airport spokesperson said: "The runway is now open, and the airport is resuming normal operations. Some delays and disruptions may still occur...
