The borough council has objected to a proposal to increase the weekend flights at Farnborough Airport by 50 per cent.
An application to increase the non-weekday aircraft movements from 8,900 to 13,500 per year at Farnborough Airport has been filed with Rushmoor Borough Council.
The report from Basingstoke and Deane Council reads: “The increase in heavy movements will use more fuel, which is negative in relation to reducing the use of fossil fuels.
“Basingstoke and Deane object due to the impact on climate change.”
If the application is approved, the council has urged Rushmoor Borough Council to ensure that ‘appropriate conditions’ are in place to secure the agreed noise levels...
