The council is urging for a full environmental review into the impact it would have on nearby Surrey towns and villages
Strong concerns have been raised as propositions to change Farnborough Airport's operating conditions are made. Councillors are arguing an expansion would lead to "a slow erosion of quality of life" for nearby Surrey residents.
Despite environmental and noise pollution worries being raised, airport bosses have hit back saying the potential impact of the expansion on nearby communities will be "very limited". The airport boasts premium air travel, and does not offer commercial flights for the general public.
In September, the airport submitted a request an environmental assessment to Rushmoor Borough Council. This would act as a precursor to a future planning application which would seek to increase the number of weekend flights the airport can take...
