A survey is being carried out at Alderney Airport to create a height profile of the land and all main structures.
If proposals are approved by Guernsey's Policy & Resources Committee the reconstruction of the main asphalt runway could begin in 2027.
According to Guernsey Ports, design work is already under way with a view to appointing a contractor this year.
The topographical survey begins on Tuesday and will take up to two weeks to provide critical measurements for informing the work...
