Beginning the second day of the tour in Rapa Nui, this Thursday, February 19, the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric Font, presented the progress of infrastructure projects at the Mataveri Airport, accompanied by the minister of Public Works, Jessica López; the undersecretary of the Interior, Víctor Ramos; the undersecretary of Housing and Urban Development, Gabriela Elgueta; senator Tomás de Rementería; and the presidential provincial delegate of Easter Island, Sergio Tepano; among other local authorities.
The Mataveri Airport Investment Plan 2025-2035, an investment of more than 400 million dollars, comprises three stages: the construction of a public road and a perimeter fence, a temporary terminal and a new apron, and a final terminal, which will be almost three times larger than the current one and will offer the same quality and level of service as the country’s other airport terminals...
