While the €500 million project will not be finished until late 2026, its most visible works will be completed before the next tourist season
Modernisation work at Palma de Mallorca Airport is approaching completion, and Aena has announced that, by next summer, the construction will no longer disrupt passenger movement. Although the overall project, which represents an investment exceeding 500 million euros, will continue until the end of 2026, the most visible phases will be finished before the next tourist season begins.
Following a meeting with several regional ministers, Aena’s vice-chairman, Javier Marín, stated that the project is progressing well, with roughly 70% of the work completed. He explained that the remaining tasks will have little impact on travellers. Nevertheless, the Balearic government has expressed ongoing concern regarding safety on-site and has called on Aena to ensure that all protective measures are in place for workers.
