As of January 2026, Fraport Greece officially takes over the management of Kalamata Airport, in a joint venture with Delta Airport Investments (Kopelouzos Group) and Pileas S.A. (Konstantarakopoulos Group).
Kalamata has already seen an 8.6% increase in 2025, reaching 380,000 passengers.
The big investment:
- New terminal with 9,000 square meters, triple capacity
- Utilizing the existing building for additional uses
- Cost of investment: over 75 million euros
- Completion: by 2028, likely sooner
- Immediate improvements to passenger experience from 2026
- Fraport calls Kalamata a “strategic hub” and predicts a significant increase in international connections
