Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has announced plans to modernise the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with construction underway this month.
The project received approval from the Board of Airport Commissioners at their meeting on 18 December.
The refresh will also include updates to shopping and dining offerings to reflect local and international tastes, as well as branding aimed at clearly representing Los Angeles as a major transport hub.
Clark Construction has been selected to lead the project under the 5 billion USD Multiple Award Task Order Contract for Construction Services approved by the City Council in February. The contract includes requirements for local hiring, small businesses, and disabled veteran enterprises. LAWA has stated that construction schedules will account for international travel demands, particularly during the 2026 World Cup.
