International Day of People with Disabilities is observed on December 3rd each year to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities and to raise awareness in every aspect of political, social, economic, and cultural life. It is a United Nations-led day established in 1992 to celebrate achievements, increase understanding, and encourage action towards more diverse and accessible communities.

Last year, the British Aviation Group held a panel session focusing Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future. The session was specifically looking at the importance of Inclusive Design and exploring leadership around this topic, how companies can work with their partners, stakeholder and clients how to work on related cohesive strategies for projects as well as discussing benefits associated with inclusive design.
