Engaging with the Climate Change Committee: Airports National Policy Statement review

The Airports National Policy Statement (ANPS) provides the primary basis for decision making on development consent applications for a third runway at Heathrow Airport. The review of the ANPS will reflect changes that have happened since the ANPS was designated in 2018.

This letter sets out how the Department for Transport (DfT) would like to engage with the Climate Change Committee during the review process, including how airport expansion can be made consistent with our net zero framework.
