In a groundbreaking move to leverage technology for improving passenger experience, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) has unveiled a series of new digital tools designed to enhance accessibility and reduce travel stress for neurodivergent passengers and individuals with sensory sensitivities at O’Hare and Midway International Airports.

With the introduction of sensory maps, instructional videos, and sensory support resources, the CDA is setting a new standard for technology-driven inclusivity in the aviation industry.

One of the key innovations in the CDA’s initiative is the launch of sensory maps, available on FlyChicago.com/Sensory. These interactive digital maps provide passengers with visual guides to both O’Hare and Midway Airports, highlighting sensory-rich and calming areas throughout the terminals.

With a focus on technology, the sensory maps allow travelers to plan their routes based on their unique sensory needs.
