Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) in the Australian state of New South Wales has unveiled its plans to be able to handle an annual total of over 72 million passengers in 20 years' time. Known as Master Plan 2045, this initiative will see the Australian hub grow its passenger capacity by a factor of approximately 75%.
...it is time for Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport to grow once more, with Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton noting that Terminals 2 and 3 will be front and center when it comes to the Master Plan 2045 initiative. He has also pledged that the expansion will be done sustainably, saying that Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport remains "committed to managing aircraft noise [and] taking steps to reduce our emissions."
