A new milestone has been reached in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s (DFW) 3 billion USD overhaul and expansion of its Terminal C building.
The airport has successfully completed the move of six megastructure models across the airport’s airfield, with the structures now in place at the site of the expansion ahead of the opening of nine new gates in 2026.
The work, which saw the moving of six modules, was carried out across two closed runways overnight via the use of self-propelled modular transporters, building on DFW’s initial use of modular construction in 2022.
The six modules also received mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection system installations before transportation.
