UKTI has an HVO for the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia and contained within this are opportunities for the infrastructure sector. The Russian Government as part of its bid advised FIFA that it would make significant improvements to its transport infrastructure. This will require upgrades to airports including doubling capacity at Moscow’s 3 airports, major improvements to urban transportation in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the construction of thousands of kilometres of new roads and rail, also high speed rail links between host cities and more direct flights to major international airports.
