After a marathon debate of more than eight hours, nine members of Leeds City Council’s city plans panel voted to back the plans in principle, while five members voted against.
Now the airport will make some minor changes to its plans to take account of concerns raised during the debate and then resubmit them for full permission by the panel later this year.
