Foreword
In this first issue of the year, I am pleased to introduce some new additions to our global team, James Creegan and Kevin O’Grady. We share our experience on the importance of developing Concept of Operations at the start of the building design process and Thoughts on the importance of effective stakeholder collaboration. We highlight some of our latest news and global project developments, including pieces from Heathrow, New York, Beijing and Aberdeen. Finally, I am proud that we received further awards for Perthand Hong Kong. We started the New Year by supporting the Smart Airports Conference in Singapore, 15-17 February. The conference covered stimulating and topical issues around Smart Design and Development; Smart Airport Security; and Airport IT and Automation. I chaired the Security Day and we spoke on a number of topics including smart airport design at Taoyuan; identifying future threats to aviation security; and streamlining airport operations through IT&T. We would be happy to share our presentations with you, please let me know. Finally, our global Aviation leadership team will be heading to Amsterdam for the Passenger Terminal Expo, 14-16 March. We have a stand in the exhibition hall, where we will be showcasing our work on improving the efficiency of airports and use of visualisation. We will also be presenting on a number of issues at the Conference, including Sustainable development of the Midfield Concourse at Hong Kong International Airport; Security by design; Strategic baggage at Heathrow; and Sound: the next frontier of passenger experience.
