Siemens Postal, Parcel and Airport Logistics has successfully completed the installation of new check-in facilities operating in Zone H at London Gatwick's South Terminal. The installation included re-instating conventional check-in desks after a trial phase with self-service bag-drop check-ins as well as upgrading a further ten desks to enable the trial to be expanded and moved to Zone C.
Completion of the contract has enabled Gatwick South to further increase reliability and maintainability of the check-in area. The core infrastructure is now ready for future technology and expansion. This will improve the overall performance and efficiency of the baggage handling operations which will benefit both travellers and airlines.
