The Office for National Statistics has published a report on the impact that the lockdowns and restrictions have had on different sectors of the UK economy by comparing the performance of single-site businesses in different areas. The results of the research show that, unsurprisingly, tourism and hospitality businesses have been impacted the most. Key findings include that tourism and hospitality businesses are four times more likely to have employees on furlough (63%), compared with single-site businesses across all industries (16%).
