Narita is adopting short- and long-term measures to cope with rising passenger traffic, an official at the Tokyo airport told delegates at the 2019 Air Convention Asia in Bangkok on 3 May.
The most immediate measure is an extension of operating hours to midnight, beginning with the winter 2019 schedule in October, said Koji Takahashi, vice-president of aviation sales and marketing at Narita International Airport Corporation. The airport currently closes at 2300 h local time.
