This week Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives began consideration of a massive $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill, with possibly no Republican support. The Democratic bill includes $8 billion for airports and $15 billion for airlines and their contractors. The House is expected to vote on the package by the end of the week, where it will move to the Senate. This bill is being advanced under a process called budget reconciliation, which will provide for simple majority vote for approval in the Senate, rather than a 60-vote threshold.
