We have the pleasure to invite you to a virtual event "How to become a pioneering airport region in striving towards climate neutrality? Discover the Green Deal Manifesto of the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Region" on 12th May 2021 at 9:30 – 11.00 CET. The event is organised by the City of Vantaa, the Regional Council of Helsinki-Uusimaa and Helsinki EU Office.

The sustainable development of the Helsinki-Vantaa airport in Finland is supported by a unique regional ecosystem of private, public and third sector actors – the Avia Network. The network’s new Green Deal Manifesto sets out concrete commitments towards sustainable growth within the airport area ecosystem. The Helsinki-Vantaa airport together with Vantaa’s wider airport area strive to become the most environmental-friendly and health-secure actor in Europe.

The Avia Network’s Green Deal Manifesto will be presented by Ms Ritva Viljanen, Mayor of the City of Vantaa (Finland) and Mr Markku Markkula, Vice-President of the European Committee of the Regions. The Manifesto will be discussed together with high level commentary remarks
from Mr Sergi Alegre, Director General of Airport Regions Council, Ms Henna Virkkunen, Member of the European Parliament and Mr Magnus Gislev, Team Leader on Sustainable Aviation of the European Commission.
