This webinar is on accessing the Colombian market and the upcoming trade mission associated with the Colombian Congress of Infrastructure in Cartagena, which will take place 25-27 November 2015 and is a key event for entering the Colombian market.  The webinar will cover information about the  agenda, benefits of participating, and reviews on last year's success stories of companies who attended the congress.   The congress is attended by government agencies, construction firms, operators and consultancies in market and offers the opportunity to meet with important contacts in these organisations and obtain details of the upcoming opportunities in market.

This year of particular importance are the following projects:

Rail

  • Bogota Metro, valued at £3.5bn, which is planned to be tendered in December 2015.  This includes opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, through design, project management, construction, product supply and maintenance and operations.
  • Medellin Metro, which is looking for asset management solutions and maintenance assistance, as well as the planned extension into the suburbs of the city.
  • Continued re-introduction of freight-lines into service across Colombia.

Airports

  • Development of ElDorado, the main airport in Bogota and the future development of ElDorado II, which is a separate airport, but will be built near ElDorado II.  This includes works for the following concessionaires:
    • Enlargement of Puentes de Abordaje, valued £108m, to be conducted for Opain.
    • Upgrade of rapid exit lanes, valued £31m, to be conducted for Codac.
    • Upgrade of taxiway, value £41m, to be conducted for Alpha Mike SAS.
    • Construction of new piers and associated works, £85m.
    • Construction of new hanger for Avianca, £14m.
  • Alfonso Bonilla Aragon Airport in Cali, includes a range of works totalling £64m and opportunities on equipment supply.
  • Ernesto Cortissoz in Barranquilla, opportunities exist for equipment supply.
  • El Carano at Quibo, works totalling £47m, where opportunities existing on equipment supply.
  • Simon Bolivar in Santa Marta, investment of £30m will cover a new terminal, boarding and luggage facilities.
